FAQ

What vegan recipes does MPLS Vegan publish?

The first recipe is a vegan turkey roast for Thanksgiving: a homemade seitan loaf, a mushroom gravy, and a comparison of store-bought roasts taken from brand and retailer labels. More recipes will be added to this index as they are written. Unpublished dishes are not listed here.

Who writes the recipes?

Jaycub Giebler. Recipes are adapted from cited sources. The pages do not claim a cook-through or a tasting, and they do not give the dish a rating.

Where is the restaurant version of each dish in Minneapolis?

Every recipe links two to four Twin Cities restaurants. The vegan turkey page points to The Herbivorous Butcher for a roast you can pre-order, and to fully vegan restaurants and catering for a Thanksgiving meal. Those notes say when a holiday hour has not been announced.

How is the recipe index organized?

By course, by cuisine, and by protein. Cuisine is where recipes tied to a global tradition will be filed. The only published recipe today is an American holiday main made with seitan.
